You know that quote “no one is more full of false hope than a parent with a new chore chart”?
Well, buckle up because this post is all about chores, and how it helps work at home moms stay sane.
If you work from home, you probably know the crazy race it seems to be every morning getting kids off to school. And, you definitely know how out of control things can get after school when you’re trying to help with homework, feed the dog, and make dinner, all at the same time.
I’ve found that a chore chart helps keep the crazy at bay. In fact, implementing a chore chart with my children has been one of the best things that I have done for my mental health. No more nagging my kids to get things done, on top of all I have to do as a WAHM.
I have tried this particular printable chore chart for kids with my kids aged 3-8, and it has worked wonders! I swear it’s magic, because my youngest daughter even looks forward to checking off her chores each day!
Sometimes, I’ll pay the kids for these chores, while other times we do fun activities as a family since we are all part of a family and chores are expected as part of the family economy.
My favorite chore on this chart is the “stash your stuff” square. This means that the kids go around and find everything that’s theirs, and then put it where it belongs. Sounds simple, right? This chart has been a lifesaver because my kids actually put items where they go now, instead of stuffing them out of sight, out of mind.
